You can use Microsoft® Windows Media® Player to play and organize digital media files on your computer, to play and copy CDs, create your own CDs, play DVDs, and copy music and videos. You can also use the Player to listen to radio stations from all over the world.

To copy Song Tracks from a Web site to your computer

To Copy Song Tracks from a Music CD to your computer

Note: You can change the location where the audio files are stored.
To change the location select from the WMP interface:
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Copy Music tab. Select the Change button to specify where you would prefer have the audio stored when you copy them from a CD. 

At that point the selected and copied songs are now on your PC with a WMA extension (Windows Media Audio).

To Copy Song Tracks from your computer to a blank CD

Create music CDs similar to those you buy.
The Player converts tracks into .cda files to copy them to the compact disc.
Audio CDs can play in most computers and in home and car CD players that play CD-R and CD-RW discs.

Use the Copy to CD or Device button to copy audio and video files from Media Library to your portable device or storage card.
