Sound Recording

To record sound you will need a microphone connected to your PC.
The default format is WAV (waveform)
A sixty second WAV clip will use between 1Meg to 1.5 Meg of disk space.
The Sound Recorder allows you to: Add Echo, Delete Parts, Insert another sound files, Overlay sound files, Reverse it, Increase or decrease its speed, change the audio format by converting it.

Sample Workflow:

• Start > All Programs >  Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder.
• Once the Sound Recorder interface displays on your screen, press the Record button (the one with the red dot).
• Once you are satisfied with your recording save it by using the File > Save command of the Sound Recorder.
• If you want to mix two sound files, record or open the second clip.

Video Recording

To record video clips, your computer must be equipped with a Webcam, or you must first download the video from your digital camera.

Merging Video & Sound Clips

You will need a video and sound editing software unless you are using Windows XP. On Windows XP you can use the Windows Movie Maker application to merge and synchronize video and sound clips.
Recording narration, synchronize audio clips, Creating title slides and so on can be accomplished with Windows Movie Maker.

Sample Workflow:

• Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Movie Maker
• Import the video clip in the Collection
• Import the audio clip in the Collection (if you already have the audio clips)
• Drag both of them in the workspace (bottom of the Windows Movie Maker interface)
• Use the workspace composed of the storyboard view and the timeline view.
• Use the storyboard view to create the sequence (ordering) of the clips in the project
• Use the  timeline view to synchronize the video/sound clips or to record the narration.
• Once you are satisfied with the combine video and audio clips, select the command File > Save Movie. The clips will be saved in a WMV file format.
